ABOUT
"Weeping Munny"
Harry is a sixth form art student at Westminster School, London
"I was interested in cubism, and felt that Picasso's Weeping Woman was a relevant motif since it, like the project, was made in order to raise money for a cause; to help fund the fight against Franco in the Spanish Civil War. I used permanent marker to draw on the doll. I wanted to juxtapose the hard-edged cubist fragmentation with the smooth surface of the Munny, and the quite distraught image drawn on it with the initial cuteness of the doll, using this contrast to achieve what I feel is a fairly disturbing piece."
