ABOUT
-
Steve graduated from Newcastle Polytechnic (now Northumbria University) in 1989 with a BA Hons degree in Design for Industry.
The last 20 years have been spent making more mistakes than he’d like to admit, learning things, and realising how much he really doesn’t know.Work life first involved helping set up and grow octo design, a small product design company.
Early projects included the design of an ‘On Air’ light that pops up in the most unexpected of places, including Peter Jackson’s editing table, as seen in the extras DVD for Lord of the Rings – which was unfortunately mounted the wrong way up and 5 minutes from overheating. Ant and
Dec on the other hand mounted theirs correctly, and it was seen
next to the heads of the rich and famous on their Saturday night show. Other appearances included the 4th best radio show in Norwich (that’s Alan Partridge), and with Chris Evans at Virgin Radio. OK, not exactly
a Charles Eames classic, but Steve has fun spotting it.Around 10 years ago he returned to Northumbria University as an Associate Lecturer, and is currently enjoying the challenge and frustration of the current ‘crop’ in equal measure.
During what little spare time he has, Steve has written some (as yet unpublished) stories for children, developed an unhealthy interest in,
and a not insubstantial collection of urban vinyl and raised 2 children.Sold for £100.
